Description
These gorgeous trees are very special. Grown from acorns planted 25 years ago and artfully cultivated into the unique forms you see here today. ‘Niwaki’ or sculpted trees of a quality like these are rare and choice indeed. Many of these cloud trees are very mature and are rare specimen trees. It takes many years to create these beautiful trees but they are very easy to keep trimmed to shape. Niwaki, Bonsai or Topiary? This type of cloud trained tree is often referred to as being a Niwaki or garden Bonsai, which is quite different from Topiary, in that traditionally, these cloud pruned trees are used describe a landscape, whereas Topiary is simply the art of clipping trees into ornamental shapes. Niwaki and Bonsai have yet another different set of characteristics determining them – whether they are planted in the ground or in a container, what size they are etc There are many many considerations to be made when creating a garden using Niwaki in Japan
